Are you looking to develop a new course or to be more effective in your use of eLearning Commons? There are only a handful of seats available in the “Building Quality Courses in eLC” track.

Here are some more details about the academies:

Google Certified Educators

This track will provide an opportunity for participants to complete Google Certified Educator Levels 1 and 2. The format will include self-paced work and group learning activities. See specific curriculum information.

ITT Academy sessions for this track will take place 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on the following Wednesdays: Feb. 17, March 2, March 30, and April 13.

Building Quality Courses in eLC

This track is designed to help faculty develop sustainable quality courses with eLC. If you need to develop a course for summer or fall, this is a great opportunity. At this academy, you will become more proficient at using eLC and will discover our learning management system’s more advanced features.

  • Review eLC design and development procedures
  • Apply the “Quality Matters” rubric to eLC course designs
  • Tips for building formative and summative assessments in eLC
  • Advanced design features in eLC

ITT Academy sessions will take place 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on the following Fridays: Feb. 19, Feb. 26, March 4, and March 18.

Participants must be full-time with at least 50 percent of their time budgeted for teaching. Please choose to attend only one track per semester.

Faculty selected for the ITT Academy will identify and work on a project that is then implemented in one of the courses they teach. Each academy track meets for four three-hour seminars in which a range of topics and technologies will be presented, discussed, and explored. Chosen faculty need to commit to attending all four sessions.

Those who complete the academy will be awarded an ITT Faculty Academy Certificate suitable for including on a curriculum vita in the area of teaching effectiveness and a stipend of $500 (to be used for travel, materials, etc.). Completion of the academy is marked by the successful implementation of the faculty member’s project in one of their courses and the reporting of that project.

  • Name and rank/position
  • Department/program
  • Confirmation that you are budgeted for at least 50 percent instruction
  • Confirmation of your intent to attend all of the scheduled ITT Academy sessions
  • Brief (1-2 sentences) description of a general idea for an innovative teaching project

Faculty who successfully complete the ITT Academy will be expected to share their projects and their design stories with other faculty at the 2016 COE Innovations in Teaching Conference sponsored by the Office of Research.

The call for applications will remain open through Friday, Feb. 5, with the selection of faculty announced by Monday, Feb. 15.
