Upcoming NSF program due dates

The National Science Foundation has released a number of program announcements in the past couple of weeks. See below for a selection:

Perception, Action, and Cognition (PAC): The PAC program funds theoretically motivated research on a range of topic areas focused on typical human behavior. The aim is to enhance the fundamental understanding of perceptual, motor, and cognitive processes and their interactions. Central research topics for consideration by the program include vision, audition, haptics, attention, memory, reasoning, written and spoken language, and motor control. Due Feb. 1.

Science, Technology, and Society (STS): The Science, Technology, and Society (STS) program supports research that uses historical, philosophical, and social scientific methods to investigate the intellectual, material, and social facets of the scientific, technological, engineering, and mathematical (STEM) disciplines. It encompasses a broad spectrum of STS topics, including interdisciplinary studies of ethics, equity, governance, and policy issues that are closely related to STEM disciplines. Due Feb. 2.

Science of Learning: Collaborative Networks (SL-CN): Solicitation seeks to support integrative, interdisciplinary research projects that investigate learning in humans, other animals, and machines. LOI required by March 1.

STEM + Computing Partnerships (STEM+C): These guidelines describe six types of research studies that can generate evidence about how to increase student learning. Research types include those that generate the most fundamental understandings related to education and learning; examination of associations between variables; iterative design and testing of strategies or interventions; and assessments of the impact of a fully developed intervention on an education outcome. Due March 28.
