CAEP Corner: Component 2.1

CAEP Corner is a regular feature to familiarize faculty with the standards from the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). Today, we focus on Component 2.1.

According to Component 2.1, our partnerships are to include shared responsibility for continuous improvement. We are to mutually agree on expectations for our candidates at all stages of the program (entry, preparation and exit). And we are to have shared accountability for candidate outcomes. The College of Education has strong partnerships with schools for practicum and clinical practice experiences. It is to be determined how these partnerships can be further enhanced and developed.

The UGA College of Education will submit its accreditation report in fall 2019. Prior to that, we will collect data across the programs as evidence that we are meeting the standards. There are five standards and 23 components. For more information, visit our Educator Preparation Resources webpage.
