CAEP Corner: Component 1.4
CAEP Corner is a regular feature to familiarize faculty with standards from the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation. Today, we focus on Component 1.4.
Component 1.4 requires providers to ensure that candidates demonstrate skills and commitment that afford all P-12 students access to rigorous college- and career-ready standards (e.g., Next Generation Science Standards, National Career Readiness Certificate, Common Core State Standards). Preparation programs meet this component by incorporating state standards for the content area.
The UGA College of Education will submit its accreditation report in fall 2019. Prior to that, we will collect data across the programs as evidence that we are meeting the standards. There are five standards and 23 components. For more information, visit our Educator Preparation Resources webpage.
