Charles Hillman to present two lectures on health and fitness, Feb. 25 and 26
Dr. Charles Hillman, a kinesiology professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, will present “The Relation of Childhood Health Behaviors to Brain and Cognition” in the Pecan Tree Galleria & Master’s Hall at the UGA Hotel and Conference Center on Thursday, Feb. 25, 6–7 p.m.
On Friday, Feb. 26, 12:30–1:30 p.m., Hillman will then present a lecture at the College of Education Research Colloquium titled “The Relation of Childhood Fitness to Cognition and Academic Achievement.” This talk will be held in Aderhold Hall Room G5.
Hillman will speak on his work investigating the influence of physical activity, fitness, weight status/adiposity, and dietary intake on brain health and cognitive performance in children. He directs the Neurocognitive Kinesiology Laboratory, which focuses on studying the relationship between physical activity and cognitive health across the lifespan.
