CAEP Corner: Component 2.3

CAEP Corner is a regular feature to familiarize faculty with the standards from the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). Today, we focus on component 2.3.

Component 2.3 is about clinical experiences and the shared responsibility with partners for making these experiences sufficient for candidates to demonstrate effectiveness and impact on P-12 students’ learning and development. This detailed standard mandates multiple performance-based assessments at key points to demonstrate knowledge, skills, and dispositions. Evidence for meeting this standard could include data from edTPA, Dispositions Surveys, GACE, and K12 standardized testing.

The UGA College of Education will submit its accreditation report in fall 2019. Prior to that, we will collect data across the programs as evidence we are meeting the standards. There are five standards and 23 components.
