W. T. Grant Scholars Program first internal deadline is today

Attention early career faculty:

If you are interested in submitting a proposal for the W. T. Grant Scholars Program internal competition, please contact Grace Thornton or

Kim Wright

by 5 p.m. today.

The College of Education can allow one nominee to go forward to complete a proposal for submission. If you are interested in applying for this award, please review the Scholars Program website materials and links, which provide specific information on the William T. Grant Foundation funding priorities, the Scholars Brochure, and FAQs to determine if your research is aligned with what the foundation is interested in funding.

Please pay particular attention to the following eligibility criteria:

  • Applicant must have received his/her terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D., M.D.) within seven years of submitting the application. For doctoral degrees, this is the date the degree was conferred. In medicine, the seven-year maximum is dated from the completion of the first residency.
  • The fellowship must advance the foundation’s interest in understanding programs, policies, and practices that reduce inequality or improving the use of research evidence.

For the internal competition, we require that you write a three-page overview of the five-year research plan you’re proposing for this funding. Please include a list of possible mentors in your proposal and their role in your study. The due date for the internal proposal is Monday, March 14. Send it to

gthorn@uga.edu

. We will announce the nominee by** Friday, March 25**.

Proposals are due to W. T. Grant on Wednesday, July 6.
