Early Childhood Education Program to receive the Richard Wisniewski Award for Teacher Education at AERA Annual Meeting
The Society of Professors of Education will present the College of Education Early Childhood Education Program with the Richard Wisniewski Award for Teacher Education at the annual meeting of the American Educational Research Association in Washington, D.C. The award is presented annually to recognize and honor an outstanding teacher preparation program.
The purpose of the award, as created by the Society of Professors or Education Board, is “to select and honor, each year, an institution which has made significant contributions to the theory and practice of teacher education.” The criteria used by the Wisniewski Committee focus specifically on integration of theory and practice, strength of foundational study, and effective innovation in the field of teacher education.
