English education students to present chalk-art festival, April 18

On Monday, April 18 from 5-7:25 p.m., members of the English education MAT program will be presenting a ‘madonarri’ (chalk-art festival) on the sidewalks around Aderhold Hall.

The students will be illustrating their understanding of literacies in chalk and will provide an artist’s statement explaining their work. This is part of their larger work in connecting concepts of discourse and multiple affordances of literacy with community/public pedagogy. Members of the community are welcome to come walk the ‘gallery’ or contribute their own manifestations of literate practice. We’ll have plenty of chalk!
