From the Dean: Spring 2016 Commencement faculty processional details

College of Education colleagues,

As spring semester winds down, it’s time to start planning for the May 13 commencement ceremonies.
The university has instituted several special arrangements to enhance your participation in this year’s commencement ceremonies including faculty regalia rental, parking at the Tate Center deck (undergraduate) or McPhaul lot (graduate), and a catered dinner in the Grand Hall (undergraduate).

  • Regalia: Rental of faculty regalia will be provided free of charge for either ceremony; please fill out the UGA Bookstore’s Faculty Regalia Rental Form. Jeni Cox at the UGA Bookstore will assist you and can be reached at 706-542-7224 or

    bookstor@uga.edu

    .

  • Parking: You may request a parking pass for the Tate Student Center parking deck during undergraduate commencement or the McPhaul lot (S10) for graduate commencement. Parking passes will be delivered to Carolyn McNearney in my office on May 11, and she will coordinate distribution to departments.

**Where to go: **

  • Undergraduate commencement:
Faculty marching in the undergraduate processional should report to the Tate Center Grand Hall by 6 p.m. A buffet dinner will be provided, and you must RSVP if you plan to eat. Dinner service begins at 5 p.m., and the procession will line up at 6:45 p.m. in the Grand Hall (Tate Center 5th floor).

  • Graduate commencement:
Faculty participating in graduate commencement (but NOT hooding doctoral students) will assemble in the Conference Room on the lower level of Stegeman Coliseum and will march in after the students and immediately preceding the platform party.

To ensure we provide the provost with an accurate head count for reserved faculty seating on the stadium field, attendees for dinner, and for parking passes, please use this form to respond no later than noon on May 4.

All faculty members are welcome to attend the undergraduate and graduate ceremonies, but you may march in the faculty processional only if you RSVP by noon on May 4.

I look forward to seeing you at the commencement ceremonies on May 13.

Best regards,

Craig H. Kennedy, PhD
Dean and Professor
