From the Dean: Cervero returns to College as associate dean for outreach and engagement

Ronald Cervero, associate vice president for instruction, is returning to the College of Education and is being appointed associate dean for outreach and engagement at the end of summer semester.

Cervero served as associate dean for outreach and engagement in the College of Education from 2009-13 and has been a faculty member in the college for 30 years. In addition to his role in overseeing outreach and engagement, Cervero will be a professor in the Department of Lifelong Education, Administration, and Policy.

The College is excited about having Ron return as a faculty member and administrator," said Dean Craig H. Kennedy. “He will bring a wealth of experience, knowledge, and wisdom to his various roles, and I know I can speak for the entire College community in saying how thrilled we are to have Ron join us.

Cervero leaves his position in the Office of the Vice President for Instruction with a long list of accomplishments and impact on instruction, including oversight of Experiential Learning, the Center for Teaching and Learning, Service-Learning, Academic Honesty, Washington Semester program, Online Learning, and STEM Education.

Cervero assumes his new position in the College of Education effective Aug. 15 and will serve as interim director of the Office of Online Learning until a new director is hired for that unit.
