Southern Translational Education and Research Conference, Sept. 22-23
The seventh annual Southern Translational Education and Research (STaR) Conference will take place Sept. 22-23 at the UGA Hotel and Conference Center. This conference, open to all UGA faculty, students, residents, and fellows, will focus on the latest advances in research for improving human health. In addition to covering state-of-the-art topics in clinical and translational science, the STaR conference will offer a valuable opportunity for faculty, students, and trainees to showcase their research and network with others. Highlights of the conference will include keynote addresses by Dr. Ted Ross, professor and GRA Eminent Scholar of Infectious Diseases at UGA, and Dr. Robert Taylor, professor of medicine and Chief of Cardiology at Emory University School of Medicine.
Faculty, students, and all those who are involved in research with clinical/translational relevance are encouraged to submit an abstract for presentation at the conference. Excellence in clinical and translational research will be recognized during the meeting through the following awards:
- STaR Graduate Student Award
- STaR Post-Doctoral Fellow Award
- STaR Young Investigator Award
- STaR Travel Awards
