Athens/Gwinnett P-20 Collaborative meeting invitation

Effective July 1, 2017, educators will no longer use documented Professional Learning Units (PLUs) as evidence of professional learning to renew their certification. Instead, each educator will determine (in collaboration with his/her supervisor) job-embedded professional learning plans or goals that demonstrate an impact on student learning.

Candidates need to be made aware of the new requirements as they prepare to enter the workforce. There are also new requirements for faculty members who want to renew their own certificates. Bobbi Ford of the Georgia Professional Standards Commission will present on the new professional learning requirements at the Athens/Gwinnett P-20 Collaborative meeting 8:30 a.m.-noon on Oct. 14 at Georgia Gwinnett College. Faculty representation at this meeting will be appreciated so information can be brought back to UGA to share with all faculty.

Registration is required. If you have any questions, please contact
