Faculty, grad students invited to meet visiting Russian delegation today

You’re invited to a welcome reception for a Russian delegation and an international partnership grant search session.

College of Education faculty and graduate students are invited to a welcome reception for a group of six Russian faculty members visiting UGA this week. The reception will be 4-5 p.m. today, Jan. 11, in Aderhold Hall room G23. Coffee and pastries will be offered.

The visiting faculty members from the Moscow State Institute of International Affairs and the Pacific National University work in the fields of modern language education and second language acquisition. They are collaborating with Victoria Hasko of the Department of Language and Literacy Education and Nicholoas Holt of the Department of Counseling and Human Development Services on a Eurasia Foundation U.S.-Russia university partnership grant in the area of technology innovation for purposes of language acquisition and pedagogy.

Also** from 2-3 p.m. today** in Aderhold Room G10, Grace Thornton from the Research Office will hold a grant search session in the area of international institutional partnerships for the Eurasia Foundation grant team. Faculty and students interested in applying for such grant programs in the future are invited to attend the session.
