Call for nominations: Outstanding Academic Advisor awards

Nominations are now being accepted for UGA’s annual Outstanding Academic Advisor awards.

The UGA Outstanding Academic Advisor awards program was developed 15 years ago by the Office of the Vice President for Instruction to encourage, acknowledge, and reward excellence in professional academic advising.

One award is given to an experienced professional advisor and one award to an outstanding new advisor. Please note that the intent is for this awards program to be driven by students, and new advisor award nominations should be reserved for advisors in their first three years of delivering academic services to students. Previous winners of the award are not eligible for nomination again for five years after their first award.

Each winner will receive $600, an award, and recognition at the Summer Celebration Lunch for Advisors hosted by the provost. Additionally, the winners will be nominated for the equivalent award given by the National Academic Advisors Association.

All award nomination materials should be submitted to the College of Education Office of Faculty and Staff Services as a single PDF by 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27 for review. Nominations will be forwarded by the dean.
