The College of Education hosted a PhD student recruitment last weekend. After Dean Kennedy’s warm welcome, there was an influential and engaging panel discussion about the experiences of our graduate students, their research, and life as a doctoral student at UGA and in Athens.

This was followed by lunch and an invigorating presentation of UGA Graduate Education: Building a (Trans)formative Research Agenda by Anneliese Singh. Students also had the opportunity to take a bus tour around the UGA campus, learn about the history of the College and its programs, the multitude of services available to students in academic services, health, mental, and emotional well-being, diversity, and of course, easy access to resources and fun.

The College of Education department heads were present to interact, address questions, and get to know prospective students. Our student ambassadors, faculty, and staff were also present to engage in conversations. Overall, this weekend provided prospective doctoral students the opportunity to explore campus, interact with members from the College of Education community, witness amazing research coming out of the College, and talk to doctoral students about their experiences.
