Learn about cross-campus efforts to create sustainable materials and practices
The inaugural New Materials Institute kickoff meeting will be 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at the UGA Special Collections Library. Breakfast and lunch are provided, but you must register to attend. (download a flier).
This meeting is meant to introduce faculty from different schools and colleges on campus to interdisciplinary efforts to create sustainable materials and practices based on green engineering principles — with the ultimate goal of minimizing waste and protecting human health. We will describe several efforts already targeting large grant opportunities from both federal, industrial, and not-for-profit sources, and we are seeking partners from a variety of different disciplines, including the sciences, business and education, that can play an important role in these activities.
We encourage anyone interested in materials research, education, outreach, and sustainability to register for this event.
