Wanted: Older adults who want to get fit and help students

The Center for Physical Activity and Health is seeking older adults (65+) to participate in a research project targeting an exercise/physical activity program creatively delivered in part by students participating in experiential learning opportunities. Please pass this opportunity along to friends and family that might quality for this free exercise program!

Who? Older adults age 65 and older with Internet access

What? A FREE 10-week exercise program especially designed for older adults called Project LIKE Dawgs (Living Independently Knowing Exercise). You will also learn about your body composition, muscle fitness, and physical functional ability through our laboratory testing.

Where? All exercise classes and testing will be conducted at the Ramsey Center on the UGA campus (parking will be provided).

When? Enrollment is occurring now and the exercise program will begin near the end of February. Supervised exercise classes will take place Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

Why? Learn how to exercise for your health. Make new friends! Help us determine more effective exercise programs for older adults. Successful completers will also earn a free two-month membership to the Center for Physical Activity and Health, valued at $70.
