Women's Staff Leadership Institute

Human Resources is pleased to announce the Women’s Staff Leadership Institute, a new leadership development opportunity for UGA staff members that is aligned with the Women’s Leadership Initiative launched in 2015 by President Morehead and Provost Whitten.

Through a nomination and selection process, this annual program will offer a group of University of Georgia staff members the chance to explore leadership opportunities, reflect upon key leadership traits and skills, and support one another in issues that women leaders face in higher education administration. The inaugural Women’s Staff Leadership Institute cohort will meet monthly from April to October for workshops and conversations with senior administrators at UGA.

Any UGA employee who has management responsibilities and a specific interest in women’s leadership development is encouraged to consider this program. Selected participants will (1) hold the title of assistant director or above, or (2) be responsible for people, large programs, and/or complex projects.

If you are interested in being nominated by the dean for this program, please send an email expressing your interest to

Denise Spangler

by Friday, Jan. 27. (Note that self-nominations are also accepted).

More information is available, including nomination instructions, on the UGA HR website.
