From the vice president for research: Take part in Interdisciplinary Seed Grant Program networking opportunity
President Jere Morehead announced the new, competitive, Interdisciplinary Seed Grant Program during his recent State of the University address. To help you connect with other faculty who would like to participate in one or more proposals, the UGA Office of Research has arranged an informal opportunity to meet with interested colleagues.
There will be five rooms reserved at the UGA Hotel and Conference Center from 4-6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 13, each equipped with tables, chairs, and flip charts. This opportunity is for both individuals and teams that have already formed, since the interactions resulting from this opportunity may help them to add additional disciplinary components (recall that the extent of interdisciplinary span will be one of several review elements).
Individuals and teams are encouraged to make signs summarizing their approach to the particular global challenge. Staff from the offices of Research and Public Service and Outreach will be on hand to help.
The rooms will be designated as follows:
- Room Q: Enhancing Global Health and Well-Being
- Room R: Ensuring Safe Food and Water
- Room J: Promoting Cyber, Domestic, and Global Security
- Room K: Engineering Environmental Sustainability and Resiliency
- Room L: Building Vital and Prosperous Communities
