Nominate undergraduate students to be LEAD Diversity Fellows (deadline Aug. 18)

The Office of Institutional Diversity is seeking nominations of undergraduate students for participation in the LEAD Diversity Fellows Program. LEAD (Leaders Engaged in Affirming Diversity) is a year-long fellowship that allows students to enhance their leadership competencies, explore various facets of diversity, and exhibit knowledge of diversity and inclusion leadership. LEAD Fellows will review current literature on diversity and leadership, participate in group discussions on current diversity issues, engage with campus and local leaders, and maintain a portfolio of critical reflections. Ten students will be selected as fellows for the 2017-2018 academic year.

Students selected for the fellowship must be sophomores or juniors during the 2017-2018 academic year and have a 3.0 GPA or higher. Strong candidates will demonstrate an interest in diversity leadership and articulate a desire to benefit from and contribute to the fellowship.

Students can apply online to the fellowship, while recommendation letters may also be submitted directly online.

The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18. Following the application review, a select group of students will be contacted for an interview.
