Training session: Trans-Affirming Practices in Education and the Helping Professions

In this training, you will learn foundational knowledge related to trans-affirming terminology and best practices in working with trans and non-binary students, clients, and colleagues in education and the helping professions.
In this workshop, you will:
- Explore the history of trans communities and how to use trans-affirming language
- Identify ways to use this information in order to create trans-affirming environments in your personal and professional life
Handouts and other trans-affirming resource materials will be provided to assist with further learning and understanding of the everyday needs and challenges trans people experience. An emphasis on trans resilience, gender liberation, and cisgender privilege is woven throughout the workshop.
