USG Teaching Award Nominations due Nov. 6
The UGA Center for Teaching and Learning is now accepting nominees for the University System of Georgia’s 2018 Regents’ Awards for Teaching Excellence. There are four award opportunities this year, and one UGA candidate for each category will be selected for submittal to the USG:
- Regents’ Teaching Excellence Awards for Department or Program
- Regents’ Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Awards
- Regents’ Teaching Excellence Awards for Online Teaching
- Felton Jenkins, Jr. Hall of Fame Faculty Awards
These awards are the highest honors for faculty at Georgia’s public colleges and universities. Individual faculty award winners are recognized each year during an awards ceremony at the Regents’ Scholarship Gala.
Created in 1996, the Regents’ Awards program recognizes the finest among the University System of Georgia’s full-time instructional faculty for their demonstrated educational excellence in teaching, online teaching and the scholarship of teaching and learning. Award recipients in the past have had a record of exceptional teaching and a strong commitment to impacting student learning, ultimately fostering the academic success of students.
Additional information on the USG Teaching and SoTL Awards can be found on the USG website.
UGA’s internal deadline for submission of preliminary materials is 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 6.
