On Jan. 15, we celebrate the life, legacy, and service of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

During his fight for civil rights and racial and economic justice, Dr. King demonstrated the importance of community engagement, service to others, and addressing social issues that impact the rights and equality of the wider community. While traditionally this day is used as a day off from work and school, there are many local and state opportunities to learn and participate in service projects and events.
