Search committee named to seek dean of UGA College of Education
University of Georgia Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Pamela Whitten has appointed a committee to begin a national search to fill the position of dean of the College of Education.
Michelle “Shelley” Nuss, campus dean of the Augusta University/UGA Medical Partnership, will chair the search committee, which includes faculty, staff, alumni and student representation.
Additional search committee members are:
- Kevin Ayres, professor in the department of communication sciences and special education.
- Jane Barghothi, executive director of development in the Division of Development and Alumni Relations.
- Usree Battaccharya, assistant professor in the department of language and literacy education.
- Laine Bradshaw, associate professor in the department of educational psychology.
- Rob Branch, professor and head of the department of career and information studies.
- Marques Dexter, doctoral student in the Sport Management and Policy program.
- Cara Dunbar, undergraduate student pursuing a BSEd degree in middle grades education.
- Ellen Evans, associate dean for research and graduate education and professor in the department of kinesiology.
- Andrew Garber, assistant dean of finance and senior director of finance and administration.
- Jim Garrett, associate professor in the department of educational theory and practice.
- Ashley Harrison, assistant professor in the department of educational psychology.
- Bernadette Heckman, associate professor and director of clinical training in the department of counseling and human development services.
- Julie Luft, Athletic Association Professor in the department of mathematics and science education.
- Christopher Mojock, clinical assistant professor in the department of kinesiology.
- Carolyn McNearny, executive assistant to the dean.
- Beth Tolley, clinical associate professor in the department of educational theory and practice.
- Sheneka Williams, associate professor in the department of lifelong education, administration and policy.
- Victor Wilson, vice president for student affairs.
The search committee will be made public today at 11 a.m.
