Love books? Love working for justice? Love the idea of getting together over some coffee and snacks for a book club? Join the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion as we read “The Hate U Give” by Angie Thomas. Thomas is the author of the New York Times No. 1 bestseller “The Hate U Give,” and her book has been called “a stunning, brilliant, gut-wrenching novel that will be remembered as a classic of our time” and has already been adapted into a major feature film. Staff and faculty from the Office of Institutional Diversity will join us in our dialogue about the book. If you are interested in the book club, please

email the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

for more information.

Angie Thomas will join us as the keynote speaker for the 2018 College of Education Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Conference, 8:45 a.m.–1 p.m. at the UGA Hotel and Conference Center. She will give context and background to the culture, politics, and movement behind the book, and we will engage in multiple conversations about social change addressing racism, classism, and other oppressions during the conference. You can register for the conference today. Thomas will sign books from 1-2 p.m.
