Fulbright Scholar virtual advising sessions and competition highlight
The 2019-2020 Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program competition is now open. The U.S. Scholar Program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, offers valuable teaching and research awards to U.S. faculty in over 135 countries around the world. The University of Georgia has produced many Fulbright Scholars over the years who have brought great recognition to the University. To continue this trend, please encourage your faculty to explore this year’s Catalog of Awards and to be aware of the U.S. Scholar program’s Aug. 1 deadline.
To support UGA faculty considering Fulbright Scholar applications, the Office of International Education has arranged a series of one-on-one virtual advising sessions with IIE Fulbright representatives on April 16 and 17. Advising slots are limited and will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Sign up details and additional resources of interest to faculty considering Fulbright applications can be found on the office’s website.
