Media mention: Holt featured in podcast

Nic Holt, director of Innovation in Teaching and Technology in the College of Education, shared his thoughts about the intersections between play, games, and learning on episode 198 of the Teaching in Higher Ed podcast. Teaching in Higher Ed explores the art and science of being more effective at facilitating learning.

Holt’s research focuses on designing live action problem-solving games that get communities involved in civic engagement and volunteerism. His current project is a game under development called “Community Quest.” It involves empowering graduate and undergraduate students to design, develop, and implement an epistemic game promoting community service, volunteerism, and civic engagement in their local community.
