Changes are coming to What Works Clearinghouse

Mark Schneider, director of the Institute of Education Sciences, announced improvements institute will be undertaking with the What Works Clearinghouse. Since it was created 15 years ago, the What Works Clearninghouse has been a flagship investment of the Institute of Education Sciences and has undergone several enhancements to ensure it continues to fulfill its mission to help the nation identify what works, for whom, and under what conditions.

In the coming months, the Institute of Education Sciences will be engaging with a variety of stakeholders to consider ways to:

  • Increase attention to the cost of interventions
  • Communicate more effectively to the range of stakeholders
  • Reflect updated practices with regard to statistical significance
  • Broaden our coverage from preK-12
