Call for participation: Task force to re-envision the Office of (School) Engagement
The College is seeking expressions of interest from faculty and staff who wish to participate on a task force to examine the College’s engagement with key community and discipline-based stakeholders. Across the programs in the College, quality partnerships facilitate the work of our faculty in the design and implementation of robust clinical experiences for our students, as well as critical research and service opportunities.
Programs routinely place students in clinical, classroom, and other experiential settings to bridge the worlds of theory and practice. Our College also is accredited by a number of organizations requiring documentation of high-quality partnerships as a component of students’ programs. Although there is an existing structure in the College and the Office of (School) Engagement, it does not capture the work of the allied health professions programs in the College.
The task force will examine the function of the Office of (School) Engagement and suggest directions for its work to not only serve the educator preparation programs in the College, but also expand to serve allied health programs. The work of the task force will take place during the fall 2018 semester. Task force members will consult with key community stakeholders to inform the partnership and engagement directions of the College. If you are interested in serving on the task force or would like to nominate a peer, please visit this survey by Friday, July 27.
The Cabinet will select members for the task force from among the nominations, and the dean will charge the committee by the end of August.
