From the Dean: Announcing new associate dean for faculty and staff services

I am pleased to announce that Edward Delgado-Romero has agreed to join the leadership team of the College of Education as the associate dean for faculty and staff services, effective with the start of fall semester. Dr. Delgado-Romero has been a faculty member in the College for 13 years, serving as a professor in the Department of Counseling and Human Development Services. His previous leadership roles include serving as graduate coordinator, associate department head, and program coordinator/director of training in his department. He has also served on the executive committee of the Latin American and Caribbean Studies Institute and on the UGA pioneer committee that focuses on the experiences of first-generation students. In addition, he has served on the UGA Graduate Council as well as promotion and tenure committees for both the College and UGA.

Nationally, he has been active in psychology in many leadership roles, including president of the National Latina/o Psychological Association (NLPA) and named a Fellow of the American Psychological Association. He will receive the 2018 Lifetime Professional Achievement Award for NLPA in October. I am excited about the experiences, perspectives, and skills that Ed brings to complement the leadership team.

Please join me in thanking him for his willingness to serve the College in this role.
