Kudos: Singh honored for groundbreaking work by national organization

A new award created by a national counseling organization was given in honor of Anneliese Singh and her work to strengthen the voices of queer and trans people of color.

The inaugural ALGBTIC Anneliese Singh Queer and Trans People of Color Award was given to Singh this week in Portland, Oregon, at the annual conference of the Association for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Issues in Counseling. Singh is a professor in the Department of Counseling and Human Development Services and the associate dean for diversity, equity and inclusion in the College of Education.

The award is one of five the organization debuted this fall, and will be given once every two years to a member of the organization who champions queer and trans people of color.
