Reminder: Starting Friday, use ArchPass for off-campus access to UGAMail, OneDrive

Beginning this Friday evening (Sept. 7), all eligible students, faculty, and staff will be required to use ArchPass, UGA’s two-step login solution, powered by Duo, to access their UGAMail and OneDrive for Business accounts when they are not on campus.

This change to the login process is being implemented to help combat the rising tide of successful phishing attempts, which compromise hundreds of UGA email accounts every semester.

You will be prompted to log in with ArchPass when you access UGAMail or OneDrive for Business off-campus. Your login information will be saved on your device or browser for 14 days. After 14 days, or if you switch to a different device or web browser, you may be prompted to login with ArchPass again when off-campus. You may also be prompted for ArchPass when using applications off-campus that are connected to your OneDrive account, such as Word, Powerpoint, or Excel.

Retirees, including emeritus faculty, will not need ArchPass to access their email or OneDrive. Departmental accounts will also not require ArchPass.

As part of this change to the login process, students, faculty, and staff with outdated desktop and mobile email clients will need to upgrade to newer email clients. You can find more information about this on the EITS Help Desk page.
