Congratulations to faculty members who were awarded a research semester

Congratulations to the following faculty members who have been awarded a research semester this year:

• Fall 2018: Cynthia Dillard (ETAP), Linda Harklau (LLE), Sheneka Williams (LEAP)
• Spring 2019: Jenn Graff (LLE), Ruth Harman (LLE)

Over the last two years, 15 faculty members have been able to spend a semester concentrating on research by being released from teaching (except for advising doctoral students) and institutional service.

In response to comments from the college survey, the guidelines have recently been updated to make clear that a researcher can spend time away from UGA during the research semester to broaden the types of activities that can be undertaken during the research semester (data analysis and writing in addition to data collection and field work) and to reduce the financial burden on departments for this program.
