Call for nominations: 2019 Facilitation Academy
The UGA Public Service and Outreach Facilitation Academy is a professional development program that provides a select number of diverse faculty and staff the opportunity to cultivate effective facilitation, leadership, and presentation skills. After two successful cohorts of the Facilitation Academy, the 2019 application is now open to include all faculty rank and professional staff within all schools, colleges, and departments across campus who desire to integrate facilitation and process design in their university work with internal and external colleagues and constituents.
The expectation for the 2019 cohort is as follows:
- The 2019 cohort will include 24 participants. This allows instructors to easily divide participants into dyads, triads, quads, and thirds. This will enhance discussion and learning, especially during interactive exercises
- Representation from all Public Service and Outreach units, Extension, academic units, and departments across campus
- Participant skill level ranging from “beginner” to “advanced”—this will enable the instructors to more effectively use peer learning
- Each participant will be required to commit to attend all five two-day sessions (10 modules total)
- Each unit will be required to offset expenses with a participation fee ($150). The fee will be used to cover costs of supplies (toolbox, binder, printing, class materials, handouts, name tags, markers, etc.), certificates, CEU’s, and refreshments/lunches.
If you are interested in applying for the 2019 Facilitation Academy,
please contact Edward Delgado-Romero
