UGA Navigating STEM keynote and retreat on Dec. 5
Please join us for the UGA Navigating STEM Retreat on Wednesday, Dec. 5, in Miller Learning Center Room 250.
The retreat opens with an inspiring keynote from Gregory E. Triplett Jr., “Lessons from the Grind: Chasing Dreams,” that is open to all faculty, staff, and students. Following the keynote are coaching circles for STEM students on imposter syndrome, managing isolation, and networking/community-building. A reception with STEM students, faculty, staff, and administrators will wrap up the day.

This UGA Navigating STEM Retreat is geared toward students from underrepresented groups (e.g., students of color, women, LGBTQ+, first-generation) and is a collaboration between the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Education sponsored by a New Approaches Grant from the UGA President’s Office and the Office of Institutional Diversity.

Gregory E. Triplett Jr.
Gregory E. Triplett Jr., professor and associate dean of graduate studies and research at Virginia Commonwealth University, graduated from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, Florida State University, and the Georgia Institute of Technology with a BS, MS, and PhD, respectively, in electrical engineering.
At VCU, Triplett oversees all aspects of graduate engineering programs including curriculum development, student recruitment and matriculation, strategic planning, student funding, graduate research, and online education. He is also responsible for supporting large, multi-investigator research grants from agencies and foundations, training grants, and fellowships. Prior to his role as associate dean, Triplett was director of undergraduate studies in electrical and computer engineering and associate director in the Honors College at the University of Missouri.
