NSF EHR Core Research proposals due Jan. 24

The updated National Science Foundation EHR Core Research program solicitation has been released. Two due dates have been announced for 2019:

  • Jan. 24
  • Oct. 3

Synopsis of program

The EHR Core Research (ECR) program invites proposals for fundamental research (basic research or use-inspired basic research) that advances knowledge in one or more of the three research tracks:

  1. Research on STEM learning and learning environments
  2. Research on broadening participation in STEM fields
  3. Research on STEM workforce development

EHR goals

  • Prepare the next generation of STEM professionals and attract and retain more Americans to STEM careers.
  • Develop a robust research community that can conduct rigorous research and evaluation to support excellence in STEM education, while integrating research and education.
  • Increase the technological, scientific, and quantitative literacy of all Americans, so they can exercise responsible citizenship and live productive lives in an increasingly technological society.
  • Broaden participation (individuals, geographic regions, types of institutions, STEM discipline) and close achievement gaps in all STEM fields.
