Help us build community on Athens MLK Day of Service

In both the feedback provided during the fall College of Education meeting and in response to the open survey, many of you indicated a desire for us to engage in a community service project as a College.

To kick off this semester, we have an opportunity to be involved in the Athens MLK Day of Service on Monday, Jan. 21. There are 22 different places throughout our community where you can volunteer, including several local schools, historic sites, and nonprofits with connections to the College of Education. There are projects appropriate for a variety of ages and abilities, including children. The event begins with a check-in at Cedar Shoals High School and runs from 9:30 a.m. until about 1 p.m. (unless otherwise noted).

While registration is on an individual basis, we have a Google Spreadsheet set up for you to note where you are volunteering so that others may join you. We are also looking forward to sharing photos of our College of Education family that day on social media;
