College remembers exercise science, athletic training student
William Aaron Whitaker, a second-year student studying exercise science and athletic training in the University of Georgia College of Education, died Thursday, Jan. 17, following a car wreck west of Atlanta. He was 20.
A native of Carrollton, Georgia, Whitaker was a hard-working student who went above and beyond to perfect his classroom and clinical skills. He is survived by his parents, Randy and Kim; sister, Lauren; grandparents, Ronald and Beverly; and a number of extended relatives.
“Aaron’s passing is a great loss,” said Jill Manners, a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Kinesiology. “He was well liked by his peers and had amazing potential as a student and professional. Aaron was the type of student to make sure each day was filled with a smile or laughter, even if it was to liven up the classroom.”
