Lunch & Learn: UGA Emergency Preparedness on assisting people with disabilities

On Wednesday, Feb. 13, UGA Emergency Preparedness will host a Lunch & Learn from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the reception hall of the Tate Center on assisting people with disabilities in an emergency. We are not providing lunch, but you are welcome to bring a lunch and join us.

Many of you will likely know Stuart Ivy, a long time employee of UGA. He is going to share his experiences as well as discuss emergency situations.

Tommy Woodyard, a UGA student is also going to share his experiences and thoughts. Woodyard is an emergency preparedness ambassador and has a great deal of experience training for emergency situations.

Both Ivy and Woodyard will share their daily challenges and how people can be of assistance during an emergency. The purpose of this event is to think about how we might be able to help those on our campus with a disability during an emergency. This will be an outstanding event, and it will help each of us think about how we respond to emergency situations.
