Fall 2019 First-Year Odyssey seminar proposals due March 1
The First-Year Odyssey Seminar program is still accepting FYO seminar proposals for fall semester 2019. For those of you who have already taught in the program, you know how exciting these seminars can be for students. Please do consider submitting a proposal for an FYO seminar. For information about the program, including the purpose, goals, and faculty resources, please visit the FYO website.
To submit a proposal, log in via the FYO seminar website. From the task list, you can choose either “Propose a New Seminar” or “Propose a Previously Approved Seminar.” If you choose “Propose a Previously Approved Seminar,” a list of all the seminars you have taught in the past will be displayed. When you have made a selection from the list of seminars, you will then have two new options:
- Option 1: You can edit some or all parts of the seminar (title, description, instructor information, etc.). We encourage you to do this to ensure that your information is fresh and gives students a sense of how engaging your seminar will be.
- Option 2: You can submit the previously taught seminar without any changes.
The deadline for submitting a proposal for fall semester is Friday, March 1. You will be notified in April if your seminar is approved.
Note: If you have already submitted a proposal for fall, you can check the status of your proposal by clicking on “Browse Proposals” on the right-hand menu of the FYO faculty page.
As always, the FYO team will be glad to answer questions and provide assistance with the proposal form. Please contact us via email or call 706-542-6358 if we can help in any way.
