Media mention: Two exercise studies featured on PureWow.com

Two studies on the effects of exercise by UGA researchers in the College of Education’s Department of Kinesiology were recently featured in an article on PureWow.com, a website focused on women’s lifestyle content.

Along with other reasons for fatigue—such as having a cluttered desk, going too long without eating, not eating enough iron, and sleeping too much—skipping exercise to get extra sleep can also backfire on people looking to increase their energy levels.

According to a 2013 study conducted by kinesiology professors Patrick O’Connor and Rodney Dishman, as well as Bryan Loy, a senior research associate at Oregon Health and Science University, a single bout of exercise can consistently increase feelings of energy.
