Thank you, Staff!
On this UGA Staff Appreciation Day, I want to take a moment to say thank you to the 150 staff members who make up the backbone of our college. You are often the first point of contact for prospective and new students and faculty. You are always there for current students and faculty. You are a support system for one another. You do myriad things, big and small, behind the scenes that often go unnoticed. You sacrifice your break and your own tasks to help others get what they need. You anticipate needs and do things without being asked. Without you, this place would not run.
This has been a challenging year with new systems that are not yet working smoothly, with lots of unanswered questions, and tasks taking much longer than usual. But you have pushed through, figured it out, and maintained a positive attitude. You have patiently taught others how to use these new systems…multiple times…with a smile on your face.
The students, faculty, and I appreciate all that you do to make the College of Education a great place to learn, teach, and work. We may not always remember to say thank you, and some days we may even be a little grumpy, but we recognize the many things you do every day to make sure we are able to be successful as individuals and as a collective.
Enjoy your time at the staff appreciation event at the intramural fields, and know that you are an essential and valued part of our community. Thank you for everything you do for the College of Education.
