Aderhold parking lot (S08) now a license plate recognition lot
Effective Thursday, Aug. 1, the Aderhold parking lot is a License Plate Recognition (LPR) lot. Instead of using a hangtag, your license plate is now your permit.
College of Education employees
All employees need to confirm that their vehicles are registered with Parking Services. Your license plate serves as your permit in the S08, PAC deck, and other LPR lots. If you have a rental car, notify Parking Services by calling 706-542-7275.
Parking Services will check the S08 parking lot three or four times a day. Vehicles found violating this policy will receive a fine between $50 and $100.
Employees may continue to back into parking spaces until we are notified otherwise. The Parking Services employee will get out of their truck and hand scan the license plate.
College of Education visitors
Visitors will need to park in the PAC Deck.
- Office managers may pay for codes and validation passes through Parking Services for their visitors or visitors may use a credit card.
- College of Education client parking spaces will continue as before with a permit placed on the dash of the car.
Parking around campus
Department passes
Department passes allow short-term parking for authorized personnel on official university business in a lot that is outside of their permit zone. The DP is not a stand-alone permit and is only valid in conjunction with a standard UGA parking permit.
The DP is not valid in the following:
- N04, N05, S25, E09, E20 Performing Arts Deck
- Tate Center pay lot
Up to two permits per department may be purchased with a Departmental Permit Application Form using a departmental account number. A request for additional DP’s may be submitted to Parking Services.
Validation passes
Validation passes allow departments to validate the parking of guests and visitors in one of the campus pay facilities. These passes may be purchased with the Validation Pass Order Form using a departmental account number. Departments are responsible for properly informing guests/visitors where and how to use validation passes.
The validation pass is only valid in the following pay lots where attendants are available:
- Tate Center Deck
- S11 South Deck
- S15 Carlton Street Deck
- N06 North Deck
- E04 East Deck
- E20 Performing Arts Deck
