Changes to the College of Education's Innovation in Teaching team
The College of Education’s innovation team is excited to announce that Sara Kajder from the Department of Language and Literacy Education has accepted the role as assistant director of innovation in teaching and technology and will help to lead the fall 2019 ITT Academy. Kajder brings a wealth of experience, new insights, and two talented graduate students, Brad Robinson and Will Fassbender.
Gretchen Thomas, the former ITT assistant director, stepped down at the end of spring to take on new projects in the College. Thomas’ enthusiasm and dedication to teaching and learning will be greatly missed, but she will continue to be a valuable committee member for the Innovation in Teaching Conference. We wish her the best and strongly support her in all her endeavors.
We also welcome Kayla Flanagan as the new ITT coordinator. Flanagan is a graduate student in science education who radiates enthusiasm for exploring new pedagogies and technologies. She is replacing Helene Halstead, who has taken a full-time teaching position at Oglethorpe Elementary and continues to teach courses in LLED. Halstead’s impeccable dedication to teaching, helping, and serving her community is second to none, and we are grateful to her for creating a sustainable structure for the Innovation in Teaching Conference.
While the College’s innovation team embraces change and is reenergized to take on new challenges, we pause to celebrate those who have contributed to building the foundations that allow us to push the College forward.
