Georgia Department of Education SLDS presentation

Bob Swiggum, chief information officer of the Georgia Department of Education, will visit the College of Education to demonstrate how teacher education faculty can access the Statewide Longitudinal Data System.

This access includes the full SLDS, which contains thousands of free, open source teaching resources available via the Teacher Resource Library. The TRL is a collection of identified and approved classroom instructional resources that are meta-tagged for course standards and can be used for remediation, instruction, or enrichment.

Come learn about the latest efforts to help teachers best use SLDS, including insights into real-time local school system plans for improvement. This meeting, which is open to all faculty, will be helpful in the preparation of our teacher education candidates.
