"The New South and the New Slavery" exhibition tour

Who was Angelo Herndon? How did his case challenge the convict labor system? Join a TEACH-IN on convict leasing and racial violence.

Doctoral student Sidonia Serafini will lead a tour of the new Hargrett exhibit, “The New South and the New Slavery: Convict Labor in Georgia.” A presentation led by UGA history professor Chana Kai Lee and her students about lynching and racial violence will follow.

This event is free and open to the public. Minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
