Media mention: Love speaks at back-to-school event

Bettina Love, an associate professor in the Department of Educational Theory and Practice, was a guest speaker at Madison Metropolitan School District’s back-to-school event. She highlighted the district’s goal to ensure all mixed-race and African American students succeed in the classroom and also added that it is better to help directly than support from the sidelines.

“We have to live in this world together,” said Love. “It’s going to be uncomfortable. You’re going to have to take a risk.”
