Michael Mumford to deliver 2019 E. Paul Torrance Creativity Lecture

Michael Mumford, Ph.D., will deliver the 2019 E. Paul Torrance Lecture titled, “Creative Thinking: Processes, Strategies, Skills, and Errors.” This lecture is hosted by the University of Georgia Torrance Center for Creativity and Talent Development in conjunction with the Innovation in Teaching Conference.

Mumford is the George Lynn Cross Distinguished Research Professor of Psychology at the University of Oklahoma, where he directs the Center for Applied Social Research. He received his doctoral degree from the University of Georgia in 1983 in the fields of industrial and organizational psychology and psychometrics. Mumford is a fellow of the American Psychological Association (divisions 3, 5, 10, 14), the American Psychological Society, and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. He has published more than 400 peer-reviewed articles in the areas of creativity, leadership, planning, and ethics.
