Register for the Fall 2019 ITT Academy by Sept. 19

I am pleased to announce the call for participation for the Fall 2019 Innovation in Teaching and Technology (ITT) Academy. We are inviting both faculty and graduate teaching assistants to attend. This semester, we will provide one academy track, “New Perspectives in Higher Education Roundtable.” The purpose of ITT is to provide support to enhance teaching through innovative instructional strategies and technology.

“New Perspectives in Higher Education Roundtable”

Hosted by Sara Kajder and Nic Holt

The fall term is ripe with opportunities to ask new questions of our teaching as we step into our courses with fresh eyes and genuine possibility. To that end, this track is an invitation to explore, in community, some new perspectives that are beginning to shape and influence what it means to teach in higher ed, and particularly in colleges of education. We’ll ask hard questions, many of which will be rooted in your wonderings and experiences. And, we’ll balance that with opportunities to tinker, play, problem solve, and create. There is no “level” for a participant in this group—just a willingness to consider, listen, re-imagine, and maybe even do.

ITT Academy sessions will take place from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. in Aderhold Hall Room 206 on the following Fridays: Sept. 20, Oct. 4, Oct. 18, and Nov. 8.

The “New Perspectives in Higher Education” academy track is limited to 20 participants with priority to faculty and programmatic diversity. Faculty budgeted for at least 50% for instruction will also receive a stipend of $500 (to be used for travel, materials, etc.). Participants who successfully complete the ITT Academy will be expected to attend and present at the 2020 College of Education Innovation in Teaching Conference sponsored by the College of Education.

To apply, send an email to Nic Holt with the following information:

  • Name and rank/position
  • Department/program
  • Confirmation that you are budgeted for at least 50% for instruction to receive the $500 stipend (faculty only)
  • Confirmation of your intent to attend all of the scheduled ITT Academy sessions
  • Confirmation of your intent to present at the 2020 College of Education Innovations in Teaching Conference
